2025 Conference Theme: Transformations

Foundation year courses have been transformative for students, providing access to HE and new life opportunities. They have also transformed universities by initiating new curricula, and professional and pedagogic practices. The conference theme affords a long-term, comparative view of the changing contexts in which foundation courses have been operating, and the ways that these contexts have affected students, staff and institutions. The theme provides an opportunity to address these issues, consider what has been achieved and reflect on broader changes in the foundation provision landscape.
