Students are expected to have studied the language for 300 hours or equivalent.

This is a part-time course for complete beginners, allowing you to start to communicate in the foreign language. 

This level is elementary, allowing you to extend your range of basic skills. You have already studied the language for approximately one year, or 40–60 hours.

You should have a good basic knowledge of the language and its grammar, and have already studied the language for approximately two years or 120 hours.
